From May 8, 2023 to May 14, 2023, all security incidents that had occurred are all Security Hacks.
SECURITY HACKS:
1. EVMOS’ Discord Server Gets Compromised
On May 8, the discord server of EVMOSÂ was compromised. EVMOS is an application on COSMOS.
2. LW Token Suffers Flash-loan Attack
On May 12, a BNB chain deployed token LW suffered a flash-loan attack.
The hacker exploited 49K BSC-USDs, swapped them for 150 BNBs and cashed out via TornadoCash.
Crypto assets worth around US $49,000 were exploited in this incident.
3. Bitpaid Suffers Exploit
On May 14, a BNB chain deployed dApp Bitpaid got exploited. Its token BTP is deployed at 0x40f75ed09c7bc89bf596ce0ff6fb2ff8d02ac019 on the BNB chain.
After the attack, its token price dropped by 81% and crypto assets worth around US $30,000 were exploited in this incident.
4. Opentensor’s Discord Server Gets Compromised
On May 14, the discord server of Opentensor Foundation(@opentensor)Â was compromised. Opentensor is a blockchain based AI application.
CONCLUSION-
4 notable security incidents have occurred in the past week. 2 were attacks on smart contract and 2 were attacks on social media.
A Reminder for Project Teams: Always test thoroughly. Do smart contract audits before deploying smart contracts on-chain. Be alert to any anomalies happening in the various social media accounts you manage.
A Reminder for Crypto Users: Be cautious about suspicious links, emails, websites, and projects launched by teams without established reputations.
