From October 2, 2023 to October 8, 2023, all security incidents that had occurred are all Security Hacks.
SECURITY HACKS:
1. Social Media Accounts Compromised
From October 2 to October 8, the following social media accounts were compromised and phishing links might be sent in these accounts:
Discord servers of VendX@VendXNFT, GEMIE@gemie_official, Metropolis World@metropolisworld, MetaMundo@metamundo_co and OmniBTC@OmniBTC
2. Galxe Detects Security Breach
On October 2, Galxe detected a security breach. The team advised users to avoid signing in its website with their wallets.
So far no loss has been reported.
3. Stars Arena Suffers Exploit
On October 7, Stars Arena, a dApp deployed on AVAX suffered an exploit.
Basically the root cause of this exploit was that its contract had a re-entrancy issue.
The attacker’s address is 0xa2Ebf3FCD757e9BE1E58B643b6B5077D11b4ad7A.
Crypto assets worth around US $2.88 million were exploited in this incident.
CONCLUSION-
7 notable security incidents have occurred in the past week. 5 were attacks on social medial accounts, 1 was a security breach which hadn’t caused a loss and 1 was an attack on smart contracts.
It is worth noting that the attack on Stars Arena caused a loss of crypto assets worth US $2.88 million.
A Reminder for Project Teams: Always test thoroughly. Do smart contract audits before deploying smart contracts on-chain. Be alert to any anomalies happening in the various social media accounts you manage.
