From October 9, 2023 to October 15, 2023, all security incidents that had occurred can be categorized into Security Hacks and Rug-pulls.
SECURITY HACKS:
1. Social Media Accounts Compromised
From October 9 to October 15, the following social media accounts were compromised and phishing links might be sent in these accounts:
Discord servers of Cryptopreneurs@crypto_preneurs and Wall Street Memes@wallstmemes
2. Blackhole Suffers Exploit
On October 11, black hole, a dApp deployed on the BNB chain suffered an exploit.
The attacker’s address is 0xFDbfcEEa1de360364084a6F37C9cdb7AaeA63464 on the BNB chain.
Crypto assets worth around US $1.2 million were exploited in this incident.
3. Platypus Suffers Exploit
On October 12, Platypus, a dApp deployed on AVAX suffered an exploit.
It is the third incident affecting Platypus this year.
Mutiple addresses were involved in this incident including the following two:
- 0xf2c444572a402ec83b7cb64e4a9fc2188f0628f2
- 0x464073f659591507d9255b833d163ef1af5ccc2c
Crypto assets worth around US $2.23 million were exploited in this incident.
4. Beluga Protocol Suffers Exploit
On October 13, Beluga Protocol, a dApp deployed on Arbitrum suffered a flash-loan exploit.
Crypto assets worth around US $175,000 were exploited in this incident.
RUG-PULLS:
1. LSC Token Rug-pull
On October 10, a BNB chain deployed token LSC was confirmed to be a rug-pull.
The token is deployed at 0x2b3559c3DBdB294cbb71f2B30a693F4C6be6132d on the BNB chain.
The crypto assets rug-pulled in this incident were sold for US $1.1 million.
2. “BTC BSC” Token Rug-pull
On October 11, a BNB chain deployed token BTC BSC was confirmed to be a rug-pull.
The token is deployed at 0x48747d325d139b1F9cD29d9381Fb73228B9AFfec on the BNB chain.
The crypto assets rug-pulled in this incident were worth around US $36,200.
3. FSL Token Rug-pull
On October 11, a BNB chain deployed token FSL was confirmed to be a rug-pull.
The token is deployed at 0xcA7023FF89Cd3DD05DeDfeB6720611Fdf26dFF08 on the BNB chain.
The crypto assets rug-pulled in this incident were worth around US $1.68 million.
CONCLUSION-
8 notable security incidents have occurred in the past week. 2 were attacks on social medial accounts, 3 were attacks on smart contracts and 3 were rug-pulls.
It is worth noting that the total loss in the incidents that occurred in the last week exceeded US $6 million.
