On August 13, Vow@Vowcurrency Suffers Exploit suffered an exploit.

The attacker is 0x48de6bF9e301946b0a32b053804c61DC5f00c0c3 on Ethereum

Assets including 175 ETH, 595,970 USDT and 5,801,632 VOW were lost.

Crypto assets worth around US $1.2 million were exploited in this incident.

SECURITY ISSUES:

1. Canto Encounters Consensus Issue

On August 12, Canto@Cantopublic encountered a consensus issue.

The team of the Canto chain announced that it faced a consensus issue, leading to a temporary halt.

An upgrade to resolve this issue was scheduled on Monday, August 12, at 12:00 UTC.

CONCLUSION-

2 notable security incidents or issues have occurred in the past week. One was an attack on smart contracts and the other was a security issue found by its project team.
