SECURITY HACKS:
1. Level Finance Gets Exploited
On May 2, Level Finance, a DeFi application deployed on the BNB chain suffered an exploit.
The root cause was its referral controller contract had a vulnerability. The hacker drained 214K LVL tokens and swapped them to 3,345 BNBs.
Crypto assets worth around US $1.1 million were exploited in this incident.
2. Syncera’s Discord Server Gets Compromised
On May 5, the discord server of Syncera(@Syncera_io) was compromised. Syncera is a launchpad application on zkSync.
3. Feet Lab’s Discord Server Gets Compromised
On May 5, the discord server of Feet Labs(@FeetLabsHQ) was compromised. Feet Labs is an NFT application on Ethereum.
4. STFX’s Discord Server Gets Compromised
On May 6, the discord server of STFX(@STFX_IO) was compromised. STFX is a dApp on Ethereum, Arbitrum and AVAX.
CONCLUSION-
4 notable security incidents have occurred in the past week. 1 was an attack on smart contract and the other were attacks on social media.
A Reminder for Project Teams: Always test thoroughly. Do smart contract audits before deploying smart contracts on-chain. Be alert to any anomalies happening in the various social media accounts you manage.
