SECURITY HACKS:
1. Minterest Suffers Exploit
On July 15, a Mantle deployed dApp Minterest@Minterest suffered an exploit.
The attacker is 0x618f768af6291705eb13e0b2e96600b3851911d1 on Mantle.
The root cause is that the dApp suffered an exchange rate manipulation attack.
Crypto assets worth around US $1.4 million were exploited in this incident.
2. Li Fi Suffers Exploit
On July 16, a multi-chain deployed dApp LI.FI@lifiprotocol suffered an exploit.
Crypto assets worth around US $11.6 million were exploited in this incident.
3. WazirX Suffers Exploit
On July 18, a centralized exchange WazirX: India Ka Bitcoin Exchange@WazirXIndia suffered an exploit.
The attacker is 0x6EeDF92Fb92Dd68a270c3205e96DCCc527728066 on Ethereum.
Crypto assets worth around US $230 million were exploited in this incident.
RUG-PULLS:
1. FIGHT Token Rug-pull
On July 16, an Ethereum deployed token FIGHT was confirmed to be a rug-pull.
A scammer (0x1C0054B566581ae7faC5760D40Bf3A7560112C66 on Ethereum) dumped 1,302,457,392,051 $GME on Ethereum for 84 $ETH.
Crypto assets worth around US $286,000 were exploited in this incident.
CONCLUSION-
4 notable security incidents have occurred in the past week. Three were attacks on smart contracts or centralized exchanges and one was a rug-pull.
A Reminder for Project Teams: Always test thoroughly. Do smart contract audits before deploying smart contracts on-chain. Be alert to any anomalies happening in the various social media accounts you manage.
