From September 11, 2023 to September 17, 2023, all security incidents that had occurred are all Security Hacks.

SECURITY HACKS:

1. Social Media Accounts Compromised

From September 11 to September 17, the following social media accounts were compromised and phishing links might be sent in these accounts:

Discord servers of Witnet@witnet_io and One Mint@OneMintNFT, and

X account of Thala@ThalaLabs.

2. CoinEx Suffers Exploit

On September 12, a CEX CoinEx suffered an exploit due to a private key leak.

Crypto assets including BTC, ETH, TRON and MATIC totally worth around US $53 million were exploited in this incident.

3. Remitano Exchange Suffers Exploit

On September 14, a CEX Remitano exchange suffered an exploit due to a private key leak.

Crypto assets including USDT, USDC and Ankr totally worth around US $2.7 million were exploited in this incident.

4. Mark Cuban’s Wallet Suffers Exploit

On September 15, one crypto celebrity Mark Cuban’s wallet was confirmed to be compromised very likely due to a private key leak.

Crypto assets including USDT, USDC and stETH totally worth around US $870,000 million were exploited in this incident.

CONCLUSION-

6 notable security incidents have occurred in the past week. 3 were attacks on social medial accounts, 3 were attacks on wallets.

It is worth noting that CoinEx lost crypto assets worth US $53 million.

A Reminder for Project Teams: Always test thoroughly. Do smart contract audits before deploying smart contracts on-chain. Be alert to any anomalies happening in the various social media accounts you manage.

A Reminder for Crypto Users: Be cautious about suspicious links, emails, websites, and projects launched by teams without established reputations.

It is important for everyone in the crypto community to gain understanding and practice sufficient levels of cybersecurity.
