From September 4, 2023 to September 10, 2023, all security incidents that had occurred can be categorized into Security Hacks and Rug-pulls.
SECURITY HACKS:
1. Social Media Accounts Compromised
From September 4 to September 10, the following social media accounts were compromised and phishing links might be sent in these accounts:
Discord servers of SaberDAO@The_Saber_DAO, bigb.xrp@BigB_NFTs, Victory Point@VictoryPoint_io and ACG WORLDS@ACGWORLDS_META.
2. Stake.com Suffers Exploit
On September 4, a multi-chain deployed application Stake.com suffered an exploit due to a private key leak.
The attacker’s address is 0x9cf71F2ff126B9743319B60d2D873F0E508810dc on Ethereum.
A total of $41M worth of cryptos including $15.7M (9.62K $ETH) on Ethereum, ~$7.85M (14.24M $MAITC) on Polygon, and $17.75M (82.65K $BNB) on BNB Chain were exploited in this incident.
RUG-PULLS:
1. LYBRA Token Rug-pulls
On September 5, an Ethereum deployed project LYBRA token was confirmed to be a rug-pull.
The project’s token is deployed at 0xf5322B0D8dcac0C6aee4c15719C078992B03378a on Ethereum.
Crypto assets worth around US $37,000 were exploited in this incident.
CONCLUSION-
6 notable security incidents have occurred in the past week. 4 were attacks on social medial accounts, 1 was an attack on smart contracts and 1 was a rug-pull.
A Reminder for Project Teams: Always test thoroughly. Do smart contract audits before deploying smart contracts on-chain. Be alert to any anomalies happening in the various social media accounts you manage.
A Reminder for Crypto Users: Be cautious about suspicious links, emails, websites, and projects launched by teams without established reputations.
